A Local Resource Centre supporting the needs of the local and surrounding rural communities.
To create a conducive environment within which a vibrant local economy can be developed and sustained.
Why the community needs this charity
In our rural location most community services are over 7 miles away and transport is infrequent. We feel the community needs our charity in order to access an important range of services, information and support on its doorstep.
Results and outcomes
We have supported the community by helping people back into employment or improving their work skills. This reduces social and rural exclusion, especially for the elderly and disabled and ensures their needs are met and voices heard.
Latest activities and projects
Local people helping the local community
To continue to offer signposting, support and access to a range of services and training via ourselves, agencies and using video conferencing. To ensure the Community Car Scheme we administer continues to support the elderly and vulnerable in the community. To bring the community into the digital world of the internet and email, so individuals can save money and time as well as find find information they need now or may need in the future. To continue to offer public internet access for all. read more
