To maintain Godiva Rocks-The 2-Tone & Coventry Music Exhibition, keeping it fresh with new exhibits,to help fund new temporary exhibitions and the every day maintance of the current exhibition space. Plus to help the interation of the local community of all ages, staging talks, lectures, book sigings and other music related projects.
Why the community needs usThe exhibition will act as a central base for the music community to meet and share ideas, a place where they can immerse themselves in all that is going on in the city and beyond. Up till now there has never been a vibrant heart dedicated to music beating within the city, we aim to change all that. We hope to give young and unemployed people a positive experience, with the help and interaction of our volunteers.
Our impact on the communityWe will be staging Music Master Classes hosted by a range of Coventry musicians all keen to help the likes of children, adults, students and youth groups to learn more about music. These events would be targeted to inspire, to seek inclusion, to break down cultural and social barriers. The exhibition would reach out beyond just music, creating an inclusive and positive environment. Breaking down barriers between young and old, between cultures and between music genre.
We are always looking for people with a passion for local music in general and 2-Tone music in particular to help the daily running of the Coventry Music Exhibition.
No formal qualifications are needed, but we are interested in film makers, people with a keen interest in popular music collection and organisers in general.
