Ferndown Sports FC provide equipment and the opportunity for local young people to enjoy football. Whilst we aim to make the club as successful as we can, we also intend to make it an enjoyable social group - many of our players have had opportunities to play for higher level clubs but have declined as they enjoy being at Ferndown. We continue to strive to give our players a worthwhile and enjoyable alternative to less appropriate pastimes!
Why the community needs usWe give young men an opportunity to be part of a team, to use their abilities to help each other on the pitch and to channel their aggression to a useful end. We also aim to help our members away from football if they need it - we support them in whatever way we can. We encourage our members to be responsible in all areas of life although with particular emphasis on football.
Our impact on the communityWe have developed the club on the pitch to include three adult teams in the Bournemouth Premier and division 2 & 5; this enables us to grow our membership base and work with more young men. We also are putting together a link with a successful local youth club to enable their lads to progess to adult football. We are proud that many players have developed well as people as well as on the pitch during their time with us.
We are always looking for volunteers to help out on match days or training sessions - whether you know much about football or not! From being our club linesman to making half-time drinks for the players, we will be grateful for any help offered.
