1st Whittingham BP Scout Group aims to provide and exciting and adventurous programme of activities to people of all ages, developing citizenship and leadership, teaching them new skills, building their self-confidence and teaching them independence. Our activities are focussed on the outdoors and on service to other people and the environment.

Why the community needs us
1st Whittingham is based in a sparsely populated, rural area in Northumberland, and the activities provided allow the young people and their families to look wide, broaden horizons, and take part in life-changing projects and expeditions.

Our impact on the community
The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Senior Scouts and Rover Scouts all come away with skills that can be used throughout their lives, and that can give them new opportunities. The important work we do with them to increase self-confidence, work as teams and to learn life skills, gives them more opportunities to find employment, and allows them to become better citizens of the world, and useful to their communities.
