Supporting adults with learning disabilities in the Wokingham borough to make their voices heard
CLASP is a self advocacy group based in Wokingham. Self advocacy is when you speak up for yourself about things that are important to you. CLASP help people with learning disabilities to do this. We run various projects including a learning disability awareness training group, a weekly coffee shop/drop in, and a campaigning group. Our aim is to help our members to be more independent and create positive change in their community.
Why the community needs usOur impact on the community
We are currently looking for a volunteer with a background in drama who would be able to support our disability awareness training group. You would work with group members to develop their presentation skills and confidence. We also have opportunities for people with learning disabilities to join our disability awareness training group and help out in the cafe at our Tuesday drop-in.
