Offering therapy and training to support families who have experienced trauma or distress
We are a child and family psychology practice who aim to reduce psychological distress and improve the interpersonal relationships and resilience of children, families and adults who have experienced adversity and those supporting them in their recovery. We particularly work with children and adults who have been abused or experienced poor early care, pregnant women and new parents, those with disabilities and health conditions. We also do research and train professionals.
Why the community needs usWe strongly believe that people who have better psychological health and the ability to form close relationships with others make better parents and contributors to society. Children who have experienced abuse and neglect who do not get therapy often go on to have mental health problems, unhappy relationships or antisocial behaviour as they get older. We want to nurture parents and children to give them a better future.
Our impact on the communityWe evaluate everything we do, and can evidence that our service improves mental health, keeps children out of care, improves physical health and wellbeing, and most importantly leads to happier families!
