To fundraise to expand the cultural offer within
Newark and Sherwood by the creation of a new Newark Museum and Civil War Learning Centre and to support the activities of the Museum Service.
Providing financial support through the running of public fundraising campaigns,events,
donations and applications to appropriate grant making trusts.
In kind and practical support through provision of volunteers and delivery of educational events for the public in conjunction with the Museum Service.
Why the community needs usDelivery of a new Museum and Civil War Learning Centre that will benefit the population of the immediate district of Newark and Sherwood and ultimately be an educational and cultural opportunity to visitors to the area. Educational and outreach events for the general public, including local schools and community groups by providing financial assistance and supporting with local volunteers.Heritage education within the district, including access for all to local and national history.
Our impact on the communityDuring this first year the charity has created a fund-raising strategy based on membership subscriptions, fundraising events and applications to grant funding bodies.We have created an adopt an object scheme and held two quiz nights to date. During the current financial year we will hold another 68 mile sponsored walk called March of the Romans from Lincoln to Leicester.
We are looking for volunteers to help with fund-raising.
We also need a Membership Development Officer and an Events Management Officer.
For these posts you should have good organisational and communication skills and have a general interest in heritage.
