We are a new charity formed as a result of the death of our 5 year old son Harry Joseph Mould
To provide support and information via our website www.harrysrainbow.co.uk as well as providing help, support and rescources as part of organised trips, events and monthly group for bereaved children and families in the MK and surrounding areas.
Why the community needs usTo help any child and their family who are grieving for a close family member such as their parent or sibling. Improving children's lives by helping with their confidence and self esteem - often knocked by such a life altering event. Giving children and their families, in this situation an opportunity to meet others in a safe environment where they can take part in a range of activities from rock climbing to baking, crafts to dancing.
Our impact on the communitySo far we have been able to give the Milton Keynes Bereavement Service a cheque for £3500, as their funding was stopped. We have taken many children and their families to to The Caldecotte Project, 360 and we now run a monthly informal group where children can meet people going through the same experience whilst taking part in a range of activities. We have provided useful resources such as books, to many families which enable them to work together and support each other through their grief.
We desperately need volunteers to help at our family events and monthly group, particularly helping with younger children and preparing food. We also need help at our fundraising events. We're also looking for people to fundraise for us- whether it be holding a bake sale, having a collection pot at a place of work or selling wristbands. Please get in touch odette@harysrainbow.co.uk. we'd love to hear from you!!
