The JuditSingers are a mixed choir based in Daventry and we have been singing together for 3 years.
We are a group of people who come together to sing a wide range of music, both modern and traditional. We sing songs from musicals, classical choral music as well a pop songs. At the present time out members range from 25 to 75 ? As a choir we have developed enormously and now perform regularly throughout the year often raising considerable contributions to local and national charities.We are ambitious and constantly work to improve our skills and knowledge through workshops and competitions.
Why the community needs usWhen we started the choir we did not envisage how important it would become in the lives of our members. As in any community, individuals face a range of challenges such as bereavement, mobility, redundancy and health issues. Our members testify to the impact the opportunity to sing together has had on their wellbeing and sense of achievement.
Our impact on the communityWe currently have 35 members and are happy to see new singers join us. As our level of skill has improved we now perform in public often to raise money for charities or to meet our costs. Many of our members have not performed in public before and have been surprised and delighted at the response. We now have quite a following and people return to hear our latest repertoire. We take part in both the Daventry and Northampton Arts Festivals and this year have entered a competition class.
