To provide outdoor learning and activities for young people to develop confidence, values, realise their potential and raise their aspirations to want to achieve more for themselves
Why the community needs usLearning outside of the classroom is crucial to helping young people develop confidence and to become active learners. Our alternative environment sees that young people who find they struggle in traditional mainstream environments (be that in employment, school, with law or family), or those who are living with a disability, achieve and flourish, feel confident, relaxed and happy. We help re-introduce them to positive and developmental behaviour with higher aspirations for their future.
Our impact on the communityWith the confidence, boosted self-esteem and key skills developed at the Centre, young people have more drive to become involved with mainstream activities and be more active within their communities. We have enabled many young people to get back into education, employment and training. This contributes to helping young people cope with the problems and decisions thrown at them in life and can be taken into local communities to help young people become valued members.
We have a huge number of ways that volunteers can get involved at the Centre and we are always welcoming new volunteers with open arms. From gardening to feeding the animals, fundraising to catering to seconding activities and helping at our events and much more... there will be something for you!
