Information, advice, counselling, & support for young people under 26 in Southampton and Hampshire
We help young people make informed choices and know their rights. We provide open access drop-ins where young people can come for support, advice and help about homelessness, unemployment, emotional and behavioural difficulties, family and relationship issues, and health issues like substance misuse, mental health and sexual health.
Why the community needs usThe teenage years can be tough. Young people are trying to carve out their identity and making big decisions about their future, while facing the anxiety of not knowing if they are making right choice. Many struggle with complex and confusing issues in their transition to adulthood, and we offer long-term support to those who are most troubled - those who are homeless, not in education or employment, young parents, and those with health issues including substance misuse and mental health issues
Our impact on the communityOur support can have life changing impact for young people, especially those struggling to make successful transitions into adulthood. Last year we helped nearly 5,000 young people, supported 230 homeless young people to find housing, and gave 1,650 information and advice about substance use. 74% felt better able to deal with their problems as a result of our support, 88% said their knowledge of where to get help had improved, and 71% felt more positive about the future.
.Volunteers are needed for a variety of exciting and interesting roles including trustees, youth information and advice support workers, housing support workers, advocates, independent visitors and admin volunteers. http://www.nolimitshelp.org
