Your local community cookery school - practical cookery & nutrition projects across Surrey & Hants
The Organic Cookery School was established in 2004 as a not-for-profit company, with the aim of promoting and delivering practical cookery and nutrition courses to children, families and young people, as well offering training to teaching staff, early years professionals and community cookery leaders. The main objective of the organisation is to enable families to make ethical and healthy food choices through a range of practical and fun family learning workshops.
Why the community needs usSince 2004, over 8000 parents, children and young people have participated in our cookery & nutrition programmes which are delivered in partnership with schools, children's centres across Surrey, Hampshire & W Sussex. Over 90% of our activities are free of charge to target families. Recent projects include 'Cooking with dad' (for dads/other male carers & children aged 2 +) & 'Cooking for Baby' (practical weaning & nutrition courses for vulnerable families)& 'Little Foodies'(after school clubs)
