The Pumas Rugby Club is a happy club with a proud record of performance on and off the pitch. Playing out of the Helford Road Pavillion faciity where it worked alongside the local council to draw down funding the Pumas are proud of a number of 1sts in North East Rugby League, the first club mark and club mark gold club, the first to deliver as part of the Emotional Well Being project, the first to be accepted into the National Conference League, the toughest of all amateur rugby comps.
Why the community needs usWe provide access to a sport not previously available in the area. Many of our former and current juniors have achieved a very high level of success gaining opportunities to play at the highest level. In addition the club offers the opportunity to play at all levels of the community game from small children of 5 and 6 years old to social adult rugby and of course the toughest and highest amateur level of the National Conference. We also provide links into several professional clubs.
Our impact on the communityThe Pumas will continue to grow, be successful on the field, help build self confidence in its young players, volunteers, and generate a feeling of self worth and achievement.
We are on the lookout for people to get involved on match days, setting up pitches, doing post match hospitality, driving kids to games, becoming part of the committee and fundraising. Also, we are always on the look for people to get into coaching and playing at all levels. Full training and support will be given to all who get involved.
