St. John Bosco Community Association aim to provide Activities/Events for the local community.
Our Association was formed 2 years ago to build open the existing community in the Townland of Ballynease. We have a Community Hall which requires renovation. We have ran several successful Fundraising Events which have enabled us to improve the Hall but we have more work to do yet.
Why the community needs usWe run many programmes and activities to suit all ages on a weekly basis, such as, Exercise Class, Youth Club, Irish Dancing, Karate, Flower Arranging, Computer Class and Drama.
Our impact on the communityAll this effort and hard work has created a more inclusive community, bringing old and new neighbours together in a friendly and welcoming manner. The hall is being brought up to modern standards catering to a wider community especially with the new Disabled Access and Disabled Toilets. We have been fortunate to receive a variety of grants enabling us to provide many classes free of charge which has proven very beneficial for participants who are less well of, eg Pensioners and Unemployed.
