Wfcap exists to support, promote and represent Community Area Partnerships (CAPs) in Wiltshire and Swindon; acting as an advocate for civic engagement and the creation of strong , resilient and empowered communities. Our aim is: To promote and organise co-operation in the achievement of the above purpose and to that end bring together council representatives, voluntary agencies and statutory authorities engaged in the furtherance of the above purposes or any of them in Wiltshire.
Why the community needs usWfcap exists to be the support body for a network of Community Area Partnerships (CAPs) across Swindon and Wiltshire. As a member organisation, Wfcap is directed by the needs of the CAPs and consequently works in a way that is flexible and free of charge. By developing and strengthening the CAPs, raising their profile, increasing their network and enabling them to share learning. Our impact on the communityDuring 2014, 422 volunteers worked with the CAPs. They contributed 22,558 volunteer hours, that's over 600% return in volunteer effort and value. Wfcap provides a network of over 5000 contacts to enable the sharing of information to grass roots community groups that deliver benefits to their communities. Wfcap provides free public liability insurance to CAPs and there sub groups which permits them access to venues for meetings free of charge. Visit our website for more information www.wfcap.org
