We create opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to see, make and take part in high quality dance that is rooted in their creativity, in their lives and in their communities, with the power to transform and inspire.
We believe the word 'choice' is crucial: if options are limited, it is likely that those taking part will remain a select group. That is why we strive to support a dance ecology in which artistic and choreographic work coexist alongside commercial and populist dance forms: where genres and cultures can meet, inspire each other and celebrate the richness and variety of young people living in Yorkshire.
Participation builds skills that are transferable whether as part of a physically active life-style or by pursuing a career; whether as artistic expression for its own intrinsic value or as an activity that builds friends, fitness, confidence, enjoyment, a sense of fulfilment or even supports wider academic achievement.
We are always delighted to hear from people who would like to volunteer some of their time to help us out in our building, with our work in the community of Leeds and at major one-off events around Yorkshire. Send us your CV and a covering letter, explaining why you'd like to volunteer and when you are available by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to our postal address. Please note, we may not be able to offer a volunteer position to all applicants.
