Austin Fraser's Charity Bike Ride 2015
It’s that time of year again. The annual Austin Fraser charity bike ride is here and it’s going to be tougher than ever! This year 12 members of the AF elite will be taking on a gruelling 240+ mile road race from Manchester to Reading. Armed with nothing but their bikes, some spare inner tubes, pumps and OS maps, this will be a completely unsupported challenge; once the team hit the road they’ll be on their own! So what’s it all in aid of? This year we’ve chosen to support the Berkshire Community Foundation (BCF). Since 1985, BCF has been working with local charity groups that tackle issues within local communities both now and in the future. Through their expert advice, we’ll be able to focus our efforts on raising money for those who need it most, from the elderly, children and young people, people with long-term illnesses or disabilities and their carers, to those with mental health needs, ethnic minority communities and those suffering from addiction. The objective is to support smaller groups who are doing vital work within the community, but really struggling to raise the funds needed to keep going. Donating through LocalGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with LocalGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Who will be involved?
