Music for Curious Minds (B'tn Science Festival)

Music for Curious Minds A groundbreaking series of events will explore science through the prism of music. Drawing on the innovations of local contemporary composers and recent technological advances in music-making for disabled people, the series will offer audiences a chance to reflect on the various effects scientific developments has on our lives. Concerts will involve multimedia integration with film, electronics and even 1940s period radio sets. How the local community benefits Breaking down the barriers where classical music seems to be stuffy or elitist, MOOT concerts are geared at inviting everybody to enjoy high quality contemporary music concerts in Brighton & Hove. We believe that contemporary classical music should be available to all and hope to make it accessible and enjoyable for the whole community. In addition to the concerts, the educational event Open Up Music will raise awareness through practical demonstrations of Assistive Music Technology, giving physically disabled musicians insight and access to greater musical expression. Free Tickets for U26s With concessionary tickets for under-26s and a free event for people with physical disabilities, the series will expand and develop the community’s musical life, and allow music-lovers the opportunity to enjoy works that would not otherwise be available live in concert. The series will also contribute to the cultural life of the area, providing a platform for local and professional performers. To make this series happen we need your support!
