Sunshine and Smiles Junior and Mini Runs 2015

We are delighted to be the partnership charity for this years Arena Group Leeds Mini and Junior Runs ... for those people that want to use a shared fundraising page you can use this link to share with family and friends and donations will come directly to Sunshine and Smiles. Sunshine and Smiles is a local charity offering support, activities and learning opportunities for children and young people with Down syndrome in Leeds ... and their families. We currently run age specific groups for 0-3's, 3-5's, 4-9's, 9+ and regular family activities and trips. We also have a monthly football group for children aged 4 - 10 ... Sunshine FC :-) and we provide 10 monthly Speech and Language groups for 40 children. In addition to the regular groups and activities we have a partnership with another local charity Phoenix Health and Wellbeing where families can access complementary therapies such as massage, acupuncture and also counselling sessions free of charge. We are committed to raising awareness of issues specific to people with Down syndrome and to work alongside other agencies and professionals to challenge preconceptions and ensure that people are getting the right advice and support at any stage of their journey. We know that there is still much work to be done and all the funds raised will help us to continue and develop the work of Sunshine and Smiles - Leeds Down Syndrome Network.
