Maarten Nightrider for the B4044 Path

As part of my commute I cycle on the B4044 road between my house in Eynsham, the village of Farmoor, and the train station in Oxford. The B4044 is a busy, winding, 50 mile/h road and notoriously dangerous for cyclists. Bike Safe, a registered charity (www.b4044path.org) is campaigning for a Community Path along the B4044 but separated from it, that can be safely used by cyclists, pedestrians, people with mobility aids, etc. The B4044 Path would stimulate many people to get out of their car and use their bicycle to travel between Eynsham, Farmoor, and Oxford. Many people that I have spoken to said they would love to cycle, but are not willing to risk their lives - or those of their loved ones - cycling on the B4044. The B4044 Path would not only improve road safety and reduce congestion, but would also stimulate more people to adopt a healthier and more environmentally friendly lifestyle. It would open up West Oxfordshire for day trips into the beautiful countryside west of Oxford, make it possible for school children to visit the local Hill End Environmental Centre by bike, and for elderly people at Oakenholt care home to leave the premises individually. The plan for this path also fits in perfectly with the 'Connect Oxfordshire' plans of the Oxfordshire County Council. Please help me to realize the B4044 Path. Every 10 pounds would help to build a few cm! Thanks, Maarten
