Milton Keynes City Cricket Club Project 2014

Four years ago the Sports Club at Woughton (of which Milton Keynes City Cricket Club was a section ) ceased to function and the facilities at Woughton came under the control of MK Council. Since that time Milton Keynes City Cricket Club have become a separate entity from the Sports Club and have found it hard to push our needs with the Council, which has mostly spent what funds that were available in other areas of the facility. We, at that time, had a desperate need to revive or replace the two lane cricket nets that were installed some 10 years earlier and were then in need of major works. Having become a Health & Safety risk they have been abandoned for the last 3 years. This in itself has been one of the major reasons for the general decline in Club membership and in particular the loss of 90% of our youth setup. The Committee reformed last year and have since placed the Club on firmer financial ground, increased adult membership and have secured two new sponsors for the 2014 season. We now need to rebuild the Youth Coaching section and therefore have a desperate need to finance the replacement net facility this year. The Club is happy to provide a fair sum towards the £10,000 needed to achieve our aims and have received support from two major sources that could take us over the halfway mark. What we now need is YOUR support to reach our target. This support could be simply a donation or sponsorship funding repaid in the form of kit badges and handbook advertising. It could be assisting us to find grant aid to achieve sufficient funding.
