These new skills increase their self confidence and self esteem and help them to recognise their talents as well as inspiring them to use these skills to secure meaningful employment in the future.
Why the community needs usThere is a consensus in the community that boredom and the lack of creative outlets plays a huge part in local vandalism and violence because 'for local kids there is nothing to do and nowhere to go'. We run workshops encouraging everyone to take part in out of school education & community development to try new things, discover their talents and create a happier community spirit through their new found confidence and self esteem.
Our impact on the communityWe believe that EVERY CHILD has their own SPECIAL talent and our aim is to nurture that talent and raise their sights, standards and expectations. Giving them respect, trust and LISTENING to their ideas is not always a chance they have been offered before.There is a real sense of COLLABORATION as the children work as a team, to create, plan and produce each project. Using puppetry,animation & the arts helps overcome language and cultural barriers and is a wonderful way for them to be creative.
