Why they need our service

You can make a donation which will help individuals and community groups affected by the flooding in Calderdale in June and July 2012.Please make a donation.

Plan and expected results

We have so far made over 110 grants to community groups and individual households who suffered in the overnight flooding on June 22nd and on July 9th.The Community Foundation for Calderdale has put in £10,000 and all donations will make a difference. The Fund now contains contributions by many individuals, collections from businesses and events, and other Funds including Hebdenroyd Parish Council, Todmorden Town Council, Todmorden Lions, Todmorden Rotary, and Todmorden Welfare Trust.

Cycle for Work Youth Apprenticeships

In April we cycled from Lands' End to John O' Groats. Seven local business people rode 937 miles in 10 days raising over £100k to set up local apprenticeships. Local schools took part in the challenge too with children taking part in sponsored relays on static bakes to ride 937 miles in a day. With this success behind us we're planning to continue the work to help Calderdale's young men and women get valuable work experience that will set them on the road to future success and fulfillment. read more
