Supporting local people develop green spaces and community based growing activities.
Community Greenspace acts as a catalyst for community-led projects by encouraging and supporting people to get more involved in creating, managing and maintaining local greenspaces. We have supported local people establish community gardens and other environmental areas, as well as operating a garden-share and tool-bank scheme through our Growing Together Project.
Why the community needs usIncreased community cohesion, volunteering opportunities, social engagement, horticultural therapy, access to fresh produce and the regeneration of open spaces for community well-being!
Our impact on the communityThe majority of our work is undertaken in mid-Cornwall with specific focus on the China Clay Villages, which is an area of social deprivation. We aim to support local people from different backgrounds, through a range of services and activities, that are of social and environmental benefit.
Practical volunteers willing to get their hands dirty, enthusiasm more important than horticultural know-how!
