Our services affirm family relationships; give children and young people opportunities that raise aspirations and encourage community engagement.
Every child that Children North East keeps safely with their parents rather than in care saves local authorities on average £36,600 a year. Every child that we help to attend and do well in school can save society up to £44,500 during the lifetime of that child. Each young person having problems that we support could save the Mental Health Services £2,7002.
We will build on the experience of our frienship groups in primary schools and modify our existing accredited 'Youth Link' projects that recruit, train and support young people as volunteers to mentor other young people in need. read more
Put our existing 'Dads to be' training programme online so that it is accessible to more Dads at greatly reduced cost. read more
We have opportunities for adult volunteers to be trained and supported to work with families in need. Our Youth Link projects recruit, train and support young people to mentor and befriend other young people in need. We also welcome volunteers to assist in fundraising and administration at our Head Office.
