A not-for-profit organisation which encourages and supports local start-up and small businesses.

To provide free and impartial business information and advice coupled with practical training and support services, delivered by an established and dedicated team of experienced, knowledgeable and locally-based advisers.
Why the community needs this charity

Studies have shown that small business start-ups are 30 per cent more likely to succeed if they seek help from business support organisations. With our support many businesses that would never have started or would have fallen by the wayside have remained strong and are actively contributing to the local economy, many as local employers.

Results and outcomes

As a not-for-profit community enterprise North Somerset Enterprise Agency has been supporting new and existing small and medium sized businesses in the locality for over 20 years and in its time has helped some 2,700 new enterprises to start up and around 3300 local jobs to be created.

Latest activities and projects

Volunteers Required

We have a requirement for friendly and committed business mentors who can give a small amount of their time to support people who have a great business but need some help developing that idea into reality and bringing it to market. We would expect the mentor to have run their own business or have considerable business experience and would need them to demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibilty, local knowledge and a desire to help the local economy.
