Why the community needs this charity

There are an estimated 10,200 people with disabilities - wheelchairs, deafness or sight in the South Somerset area who can benefit. We undertake access reviews of:- *Village Halls and public buildings *Dropped kerbs *Training for volunteers

Results and outcomes

By working with Yeovil Town Council, Town Centre Partnership and Highways, recommendations were made to improve pathways through Yeovil and other towns. We have also made recommendations to improve Public buildings and worked on planning applications with SSDC. We have trained a number of volunteers in Disability Awareness Training. All this results in disabled persons becoming more closely involved in their local community and raising their self esteem
