Promoting volunteering and community activity in Slough.

Volunteer Centre Slough promotes volunteering and its values among local people and the wider community. We develop volunteering opportunities through promotion and support to local voluntary organisations. We act as a broker introducing volunteers to local voluntary organisations. We have an office open to the public five days a week based in Slough Library and are able to offer help and support to those looking to volunteer.

Why the community needs this charity

Slough has a wonderfully diverse community with new people arriving all the time. It also has a strong voluntary sector representing all sections of the community. We help local people find a volunteering role where they can contribute and feel more part of Slough.We offer training to volunteer managers on how best to work with volunteers.

Results and outcomes

We help local organsiations find the volunteers they need and support them in managing their volunteers.We help local people, especially those with additional support needs find a role in the community that is suitable for them. We help people gain the necessary skills and confidence to develop and feel a part of their community.
