Winchester Action on Climate Change is working with local residents, organisations, policy-makers and politicians to cut the carbon footprint of Winchester District. Climate change is the biggest challenge we face. We need to act now for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
WinACC helps people save energy in the home, save money and keep warmer in winter. We also press for better public transport so that no-one is forced to drive a car to get to work or leisure. We support renewable energy, large and small, and we work closely with the local Council to support the new low carbon economy.
Since 1 April 2013, we have run a take-up campaign for people on low incomes to get free new energy-efficient boilers, organised free energy checks and advice to 150 homes, and briefed over 100 people about fracking. We have a plan for how Winchester District can do its fair share to cut greenhouse gas emissions and shift to renewable energy, and we lobby on public transport.
