Winchester Action on Climate Change is working with local residents, organisations, policy-makers and politicians to cut the carbon footprint of Winchester District. Climate change is the biggest challenge we face. We need to act now for the sake of our children and grandchildren.
WinACC helps people save energy in the home, save money and keep warmer in winter. We also press for better public transport so that no-one is forced to drive a car to get to work or leisure. We support renewable energy, large and small, and we work closely with the local Council to support the new low carbon economy.
In the last 18 months we have: given a free energy check and advice to over 250 homes; run a session for over 100 people on fracking; shown an award-winning film on global warming to 250 people; helped set up a community energy co-op; and involved 200 people in discussions about practical ways to drive less
