Action Foundation provides support and opportunities to help our beneficiaries overcome their exclusion in Tyne and Wear. Action Housing provides accommodation and support to destitute asylum seekers. Action Letting manages property for landlords and lets them to homeless refugees whilst providing support to facilitate their integration and access opportunities. Action Language provides free English language classes to migrants that cannot access mainstream ESOL provision.
Why the community needs usOur impact on the communityLast year we supported over 1000 refugees, asylum seekers and migrants through our three projects involving over 110 volunteers. As a result of our support 22% of Action Letting residents have gained employment, 98% of Action Language students told us they feel that have a better chance of getting work or accessing further education and 88% of beneficiaries told us they now feel more confident to access services independently.
We have volunteering opportunities in our Action Language project. Volunteers support the delivery of our free ESOL classes to refugees and asylum seekers. We are also recruiting volunteers for our Action Hosting project.
