Our club urgently needs a second pitch in order to develop & fully serve our community.
We are a friendly, 100 year old, inclusive sports club full of enthusiastic players and hard-working volunteers. We now urgently need better facilities, notably a second pitch, in order to springboard the next stage of our community outreach programme and our club development plan. We serve a wide semi-rural community in which hockey is a popular traditional sport. We support over 400 members of both sexes, all ages and varied abilities,plus we have over 100 juniors at Sunday morning training.
Why the community needs usMany more potential participants exist in our community, particularly in local schools. We aim to support school PE Staff in generating interest in hockey, widening participation and identifying the sports development needs of individuals. We already have over 250 playing members under 18 years of age and make a considerable contribution to the life of these young people and their parents. Our core values include understanding the need for teamwork, discipline and respect for officials.
Our impact on the communityWe are a very sociable club in which members of all ages and abilities are encouraged to mix on equal terms. Our aims include the club becoming an even greater force for good in the community by welcoming more members. To achieve this we need better facilities.
