Eden-Rose Coppice Trust provides effective restorative specific environments for people with cancer and outdoor based volunteering opportunities for vulnerable people in the community. In the last ten years Eden-Rose Coppice Trust has helped more than 290 people through end of life in its beautiful Sudbury woodland and is one of four sites in Suffolk and Essex.
Why the community needs usBy making safe, replanting, fencing, applying woodland management and promoting voluntary work, we provide a proven and effective restorative specific environment for people affected by life limiting illness. By encouraging the participation of children with special educational needs and those affected by mental health issues in our woodland development, we not only teach life skills but provide the necessary confidence to gain a valued place in society whilst helping other people.
Our impact on the communityMedical evidence states that many of the most effective settings for recovering or living with illness involve the natural environment. Such restorative environments are in short supply in many urban areas. Our woodlands provide the perfect environment for people who have life limiting problems
