We help local people deal with the issues and problems they face in their lives. We collect evidence and use it to change the policies and practices that effect peoples lives, both locally and nationally.
Why the community needs usWe help local people who are in need of advice, including the most vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of our community. Our advice is delivered by trained volunteers; it is free, confidential, impartial and independent. We are able to offer information on a wide range of topics, but also offer specialist advice on benefits, employment, immigration, and money management.
Our impact on the communityOur help enables local people to address the problems they face, enabling them to participate more fully in daily life. To put a monetary value on our work, last year we helped our clients put £1,207,493 back into the local economy.
We run a bi-annual training programme for volunteer advisers, but have occasional vacancies for admin and support staff inbetween.
