Local, friendly community based cricket club that has been established for over 150 years
The floods of February 2020 caused considerable damage to our clubhouse and training nets. (£13K). Then in March 2020 the Covid 19 pandemic was declared which resulted in the closure of the club and the suspension of cricket and social activities at the club . The two disasters have left the club without income.
Why the community needs usThe club provides cricket and accredited training to a large number of young people who make up 5 junior teams in the Halifax League in the age range of 7 to 17. We also have 3 senior teams in the Halifax League and a thriving and busy social club. We are also home to the Sowerby Bridge Snails Running Club as well as the Sowerby Bridge Football Club. The clubhouse is also used by other local community clubs for meetings and social functions.
Our impact on the communityThe cricket club is a hub that promotes health and well being through sport and social activities for the local community.
