Stepping Stones - supporting vulnerable women and children to be their best selves

Stepping Stones is a charity that provides practical and emotional support to over 500 vulnerable women a year; affected by the complex and multiple issues of domestic abuse, offending, drug and alcohol misuse or poor mental health. Based in Luton and supporting women from the town and Central Bedfordshire, our trauma-informed service is driven directly by the needs of women; we listen and are non-judgemental; we inform and advocate; providing the women with skills, hope and resources to make positive choices. Through tailored one to one support, group therapy and counselling, our team of passionate and experienced practitioners work collaboratively to equip and inspire women to make positive changes, creating a better future for themselves, their children, their families and communities.

Uniquely, we provide free childcare ensuring all women can access our services. Our Luton hub is a place that women feel safe and can benefit from food and clothes donations as well as access to free legal advice and employment support. We have strong partnerships with other agencies including social services, drugs and alcohol services, probation and sexual health to name a few.
