100 Marathons for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
In February 2011 I started to run 100 Marathons to raise awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I was abused as a child and put into care on and off for over 10 years. I joined the Army at 17 years old and served 12 years and suffered with what I now know to be PTSD. I have suffered greatly with the symptoms, but have always wanted to show the positives and highlight what you can do and also to be a voice and inspire others to manage the symptoms of PTSD. I now spend my time Campaigning and Educating All forms of PTSD by speaking publicly to the media and in Schools and Organisations and am proud to be a voice for PTSD. I was highly honoured to carry the Olympic Torch in June 2012 for the work that I do around PTSD and Mental Health. I have ran 54 Marathons and will complete a number of challenges from Marathon to 24 hour and multi day runs to get to the 100 Marathon target. I hope that you will support me and also Positive Action for PTSD who are the first Organisation to Campaign and Educate all forms of PTSD in the UK.
