Wheelchair Basketball Club that caters for players aged 8+ and adults who have a physical disability
The wheelchair basketball club caters for players aged 8 upwards and adult who have a physical disability. All the players play in a sports wheelchair,completing training sessions, friendly and competitive matches.The club also offers the opportunity for volunteers to help within the sessions to assist the players to participate in the sport. Many of the current volunteers are working towards awards, such as the Duke of Edinburgh award.
Why the community needs usWe are the only competitive Wheelchair Basketball team in Berkshire at present offering Adult and Junior competition as part of British Wheelchair Basketball leagues. we offer the opportunity for children and adults with a physical disability to take part in a wheelchair sport.
Our impact on the communityBenefits to the players included improving their co-ordination, confidence, increasing their fitness levels, team building, social skills such as their enthusiasm and energy towards other. along with those relevant to playing wheelchair basketball and having an active lifestyle.
