We offer weekly rehearsals and workshops that culminate in regular public performances.
We work with children and adults with physical and learning difficulties. In the main our members are capable of working independently and contribute to the work of the group. Our members have a range of disabilities including Aspergers Syndrome, Autism, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, chromosome abnormalities and physical movement impairments.
Why the community needs usIn2Theatre works with a special marginalised section of our community and encourages them to integrate further with the local arts scene, in this way contributing to their social education. The solidarity of the team work this engenders leads to increased confidence and enjoyment of life. Membership of the group has a major benefit to social life and provides them with opportunities otherwise denied. It raises awareness of issues outside their normal experience, and helps to break down barriers.
Our impact on the communityMembers have had some great opportunities to take part in exciting and fun filled productions and workshops.
In addition to developing theatre skills, workshops concentrate on enhancing social, listening, communication, speaking and concentration. The personal benefits gained are inestimable - increased self-esteem and confidence, forging of long term friendships and a huge sense of achievement.
