Delivering community projects which meets community current needs e.g Employment & Digital Inclusion
To develop & implement community projects which meets current community needs e.g leading people into employment, work experience/volunteering opportunities, raising awareness regards health conditions relating to diet or mental health, providing ICT courses or low cost equipment to those whom are facing isolation, cultural projects, languages courses to enable people to fully integrate and participate. Working in partnership with the local authorities and the voluntary & community sector.
Why the community needs usExamples of the charity activities: (i) 100 children per year extra tuition to improve English, Arabic & ICT skills to help fully integrate into society. (ii) 120 women/girls practical healthy cooking & social skills engaging those suffering from mental health, cultural barriers and health issues. (iii) refugees, asylum seekers and other whom are disadvantaged with assistance in completing forms e.g immigration support. (iv)supporting to build academies in areas of high deprivation in Yorkshire.
Our impact on the communityLast year the charity helped: 100 children receive tuition (those whose parents are unable to support due to lack of language skills or illness); delivered healthy cooking courses to 80 women/girls whom face isolation; led 28 people into employment; 700 people received access to ICT courses; helped 220 people gain English language skills; supported 320 newly arrived migrants with form filling, immigration advice & support; 80 families received low cost ICT equipment.
The charity welcomes volunteers from all areas whom are able to contribute in moving the organisation forward e.g Volunteer Teachers/Assessors, Fundraisers, Youth Workers, English Language tutors, Web developers or people with specific ICT skills.
