Fun with Music and movement for children and young people with disabilities and special needs.
The Music Club is an afterschool activity for children and young people with disabilities and special educational needs. The club provides a safe place for disabled children and young people to develop social skills, self awareness, self confidence and have fun with music with their peers. The club supports the social, physical, emotional and mental development of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.
Why the community needs usChildren and young people living with disabilities and their families, are at risk of social isolation due to the lack of services and access to play and leisure. The music club provides access to play and leisure that meets the needs of these families within the local area. Children and carers meet with other children and carers on a regular basis and in the holiday to access music activities, resources and workshops in a shared environment supported by volunteers from the local community.
Our impact on the communityThe social interactions and self awareness of children with disabilities are developed through sharing, making and appreciating music, creative art and play. The talents and skills of children are developed and showcased through music fun days and activities that allow self expression and performance.
