to empower vulnerable young people aged 10-18 to recognise and achieve their full potential.
Through our detached youth work, project sessions and a rural youth club, we provide opportunities for vulnerable young people. Day trips and residentials help to challenge young people and develop team building, social skills and developing self-esteem. On detached sessions, the team will often bring games and workshops to engage young people we see out and about. Street Reach heavily subsidise all projects and trips to ensure that financial circumstances do not create a barrier to access.
Why the community needs usStreet Reach youth workers positively engage young people through detached youth work in targeted areas of Winchester. Street Reach have a proven track record of supporting often hard to reach and vulnerable young people encountered on the streets and in areas such as shop fronts and local parks. The team are able to offer information and advice, challenge negative behaviour and promote community values whilst offering opportunities to enjoy and achieve through diversionary activities.
Our impact on the communityStreet Reach also deliver a weekly Friday football project which provide a positive diversionary activity on an evening where risk taking behaviour would typically rise. The project promotes healthy lifestyles and we are able to provide support and advice to the often vulnerable young people that drop in. We also run a weekly youth club in Micheldever, which offers regular activities and trips to overcome the rural isolation. Our localgiving initiative is supported by Winchester City Council.
