We support young people into apprenticeships, employers seeking apprentices & fundraising
To ensure that every young person in Calderdale who is able, is either employed or in full time education. It is our goal to have the lowest % of "NEETS" in the UK within Calderdale. Working Wonders will act as a driving force and conduit between potential apprentices and employers within Calderdale. Through fundraising, we will not only raise the profile of apprenticeships within the area but also aim to provide grants to encourage businesses to employ local, young people via apprenticeships.
Why the community needs usWorking Wonders is the only local independent organisation that has a singular focus on getting people into work. Being employed either full time or via a structured apprenticeship offers tremendous benefits not only to the apprentice and business but to the wider community of Calderdale. These are both economic as well as social and will ensure that businesses will have a trained and willing workforce to fuel their expansion and growth in the coming years.
Our impact on the communityAfter a successful campaign as a charitable project in 2012/3 that saw 23 young people enter into funded apprenticeships Working Wonders has continued to build upon the great start targeting support for a further 50 young people per annum, to make a real impact in Calderdale. Thanks to its board of trustees Working Wonders has strong community and business ties and are "walking the Walk". Many employ apprentices or donate significant time and resource to further the aims of the charity.
We are fledgling charity requiring help in most areas of our operation. Volunteers with some time, flexibility and most important - enthusiasm are more than welcome.
