Design Collective Start-UP

Bardot is looking for funding, as Bardot has identified a need within the market place for an e-commerce commercial design collective. Many online fashion/lifestyle consumers, desire a more streamlined, uncluttered interface with interactive elements, which are fundamental to their user experience and repeat purchases. Therefore the initial website build and structure is fundamental. As creative director Bardot will source, promote and sell a collective of British designers highly crafted, innovative and quirky limited edition designed pieces, to those consumers looking for items not mass produced for the high street. In addition, a quarterly style e-zine will also be developed and produced with a subscription fee to access. From out of the commercial arm, the second phase will be to build a social enterprise fashion hub. The physical hub will be aimed at those creatives who don’t have the means/access to design because of a lack of socio-economic support. The hub space will allow members to network in person or in a virtual sphere, share studio space and machinery (where possible) and collaborate to produce collections. In addition, mentoring and motivating support services will be provided. In providing the social enterprise for creatives to build their own collections and audience, the future goal is to then be in a position to offer a place amongst the roster of in-house designers; as part of the design collective commercial arm. In order for Bardot to achieve her business aim, the initial seed funding requested of £1000 would be to support Bardot getting up-skilled in the required re-fresher short courses in Illustrator/Photoshop for fashion, running a fashion e-commerce business and fashion mag/e-zine.
